Vol. 12. No. 2
Fall 2002

We weren't looking for raindrops on roses or whiskers on kittens. But we knew there were plenty of favorite things at the U, things that would inspire song even during budget-weary times.

So earlier this year, Continuum asked faculty, staff, and alumni to nominate their favorite hidden (and not-so-hidden) treasures. We received hundreds of suggestions — places, programs, and small pleasures that don't always grab headlines but deserve attention nonetheless. We whittled the nominations to an admittedly quirky list of 25, one that makes no claim for inclusiveness. We didn't rank the list — these aren't the top 25, after all — so the items that follow are not presented in any particular order.

No, there are no bright copper kettles or warm woolen mittens. But there are tanks, trees, and tunnels, even a trumpet and a Tony. So take a gander.
